On Saturday July 19, Lincoln Park will help celebrate the city’s Centennial Anniversary with a baseball game held at Quandt Park, 1696 Dix Hwy. The game will feature Lincoln Park Little League alumni players, who are invited to participate - all ages included. Warms-ups begin at 10:30a.m. with registration at 11:30a.m. The game time is 12 Noon at Quandt Park’s Roy Holcombe Field.
The game is sponsored by the Lincoln Park Little League; the ball field, dugouts and game equipment are provided courtesy of the Lincoln Park Little League and president David Cruz. Co-sponsors are the Lincoln Park Historical Society & Museum.
Players are asked to provide their own gloves. Participants will also need to sign waivers for insurance purposes. Teams will be assigned at registration. No advance sign-up is necessary; just show up on the day.
Lincoln Park Mayor Maureen Tobin will be among those serving as honorary coaches for this centennial celebration game.
While there are two bleacher stands providing some seating for spectators, community members might want to bring their own lawn chairs.
The new Lincoln Park Centennial Baseball caps will be on sale at the game, for $25. The caps are available for purchase at the historical museum prior to July 19th and afterward.
