New Book: Lost Lincoln Park

We are excited to announce the fall release of the newly-published Lost Lincoln Park, the latest book to touch on the history of the Lincoln Park community. Using resources of the museum archives and collections, Lost Lincoln Park gives us an overview of many community landmarks and land uses that have changed or been lost over time, but still are vital to understanding our story; this is especially timely as we celebrate our centennial year here in 2025.

Writer and historian Craig Hutchison thanks the Lincoln Park Historical Society Board, the Museum staff, its curator Jeff Day, and assistant curator Adrian Ace, for allowing access to the archives and for many hours of consultation and interviews. We, in turn, wholly appreciate Craig’s commitment and talents in helping to tell this story so well. Mr. Hutchison, an accomplished, well-regarded writer of local history who has produced several books on Dearborn history including Lost Dearborn, will be on hand for the book’s kick off sales event and book-signing at the Lincoln Park Museum – held on Saturday, November 8th from 2:00PM to 5:00PM. The book can also be purchased on the museum’s website or may be ordered by phone at the museum office, 313-386-3137.

To purchase the book online, please make a $31 donation here. This amount covers the cost of the book plus shipping/handling, and purchasers will be contacted via email to confirm their shipping address.

Two benefits to making the purchase with the museum: NO sales tax and your purchase will directly benefit the museum. (Note that commercial internet sales will not do that.) The cost of the book is $25, plus $6 for shipping and handling. Sales at the museum will continue through the holidays and beyond; our hours are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1pm to 6pm. We are located at 1335 Southfield Road, Lincoln Park.

There are currently about 150 titles in the “Lost” series from The History Press; the first one to be published, in 2008, was Lost Columbia: Bygone Images From South Carolina's Capital. Please join us on the afternoon of November 8th for this kick-off celebration!!
